Grapes de-stemmed, crushed and sent for cold maceration before fermentation. Once complete the wine is moved off grape skins (which are pressed) and the first blend made. This undergoes malolactic fermentation and then ageing, with a proportion spending eight months in oak barrels. The final blend undergoes fining and filtration before resting at low temperature to ensure that all tartrate deposits have come out. The finished wine is once again filtered and can progress to bottling
Cono Sur was founded in 1993, with the vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines that convey the spirit of the New World. Our name refers to the company's geographic position, representing wines proudly made in South America's Southern Cone, on whose western edge lies Chile and its gifted wine valleys
The Las Lomas estate is located in the western part of the Colchagua Valley, close to the Pacific Ocean. The mild coastal climate with foggy mornings and cool nights enables the grapes to ripen evenly and slowly to full maturity. Soil is a mixture of alluvial clay and gravel.
